Santa Cruz Times

i got a new camera for Christmas and it takes ABSOLUTE WONDERFUL pictures. So Tyson, Justin, my friend and her daughter, and I went to Santa Cruz and spent a few hours walking around. It was Tyson and Justin's first time. I felt like a professional photographer. Some of the pictures were just amazing. Here a few to enjoy. Compared to my other camera, it takes the picture so quickly that it makes it easier to catch some of Tyson's moments. My other camera was so slow by the time the picture took, the moment was over. Now since I will have so many great pictures I really have to start my scrapbook.

Cough Cough

Tyson has had a slight cold for 3 weeks. It started as a runny nose then a chest cold. Well 3 days ago he developed a cough and it just doesnt to be getting better. When we took him to the doctors 3 weeks ago they said the chest cold could last 12 days but there was nothing they could give him for it to go away. It was getting a little better but now its back and really never fully went away. Well since it's been 3 weeks, Justin took him to the pediatrician and they discovered Tyson has Bronchitis and an ear infection. WHAT?!?! he is the happiest baby ever you would have never guessed!!! Even with a painful cough and ear infection he still just smiles. I had no idea. NEways, he now has to use an inhaler every 4 hours to clear his chest and he has to take Amoxicylin 2 times a day for the next 10 days for it to clear up. My poor little baby!

Merry Xmas and Happy Hannukah

Every year for Christmas my mom and I go to my aunts house and open presents with some family. We usually go there on CHristmas Eve and then spend some time eating, watching movies, listening to music and waiting... we wait until midnight and then start opening presents. This year was Tyson's first time joining the family for the tradition. He was all over the place. Once again he was the one of the only boys. There were 15 of us with only 3 guys [tyson included]. I thought i was going to have to give Tyson a short nap so he could stay up until midnight but he was live with action until then.

When midnight came I was so excited to give Tyson his first present. I thought he would try to tear it open but he was more interested in the bows. He would just sit there and try and eat the bows of course. So I actually had to do most of the opening for him so I guess it was more like Christmas for me instead of him. He got sooo many gifts from me, grandma, and family. Although I banned her from buying clothes, my mother of course bought him a few outfits but besides that he recieved a bunch of toys.

It was funny because I surrounded him with a few and they were all making noises at the same time he didnt know what to do. He got a ball the moves on its own and sings. Its suppose to be good for crawling because he has to chase it around. He got a few stuffed animals that move and make noises... my absolute favorite being his bouncing Tigger. When you push Tiggers tail he starts bouncing and singing really fast. He also got a Baby Einstein DVD and two books, one of the books is so I cna teach him some basic sign language. I've been trying to teach him "milk" since he was born and he finally makes the movements when he's hungry so I am excited to teach him some more signs. Tyson stayed awake until 1am. He slept really good after that.

Well while we were at my aunt's house, Justin was on his way driving up to see Tyson. He got in at 2am so we saw him on Christmas day instead. He of course brought some more presents for Hannukah and helped Tyson open them. Justin's family celebrated Hannunkah the weekend before but Tyson and I couldnt make it down there so Justin came up here to share the holiday with us. This time Justin got to help Tyson open his presents. Of course he got him some more toys. Noisy ones at that.

Overall Tyson had a great holiday and received lots of presents from everyone. Thanks to ev eryone that was a part of his wonderful time and although we couldnt see everyone, you were all in our thoughts and we wish you a very happy season!!!

Houston we have a crawler

First off I just want to apologize that I do not keep up with this as much as i would like to now. Since I am now back in the workforce I dont have as much time to take the pictures neccessary to keep this up and sometimes I think that just entries with no pictures are boring but at the same time I have come to realize that its better then nothing huh. So at the least I'll try to write if I cant post a picture.

So we have an army crawler in the house. Tyson has been moving backwards for a while now but just the other day he has learned how to drag himself forward. I think he's gonna walk before he can crawl. He LOVEs standing up and its so cute bc u can see how proud he gets. I'll have to capture it on camera soon. Even when he tries to crawl its more like he tries to stand up. He pushes him up on his hands then he stands on his two feet and tries to stand up versus crawling. My mom said i only crawled for two weeks so I wonder if he'll be the same. I won't be surprised. any opportunity he can he tries to stand. Now he stands and then wont bend his legs to sit so i try to sit him down and he's stiff as a board. Already a little rebel!

Puffs

Tyson started on some finger foods. He now has added Gerber Graduates PUFFS in sweet potatoe style. They are these little star chapes cereal like foods. I was nervous when I wanted to try and give them to him since he doesnt have any teeth. I didnt want him to choke but they instantly dissolve in his mouth. Its funny bc he tries to chew them as if he has teeth. I think thats from imitating us eating. He has gotten much better at eating them now compared to when he first started. I would give him like 10 and i'd think he ate them bc they were all missing off the highchair but then i'd go to pick him up and they were actually all just hiding underneath his bottom. Now when i give them to him he eats all of them. Finger foods are good for babies to strengthen their fine motor skills [using their thumb and finger to pick them up] and hand eye coordination [putting them in his mouth]. I feel like he's just growing sooo fast. Already eating by himself now!

Got My Vans On...

I absolutelly love this outfit on Tyson. Everything about it is sooo cute! I was in the mall and i was walking past the Vans store adn saw the litte vans in the window and HAD to get them. They are absolutely adorable. I love the big feet on the bottom of them. they look so funny when he is sitting down bc all you see are these big feet. But hey, they help me make sure I put them on the right foot. LOL. plenty of times I have made the mistake of putting his little shoe on the wrong foot.

Artistic

Tyson is finished with his second week of daycare and he has already made something.

Well he didnt really make this but he helped. If you can't notice the little leaves are his hands. The daycare teacher had to trace hos hands 20 times to create this masterpiece. So this is officially Tyson's first present to me and daddy! Isn't he so artistic!

Hungry Cat

Every morning when I'm feeding Tyson, Charlie will just sit there and watch him eat. He meows at me too as if im supposed to be feeing him too. I have to let him smell Tyson's food to show him it's just baby food. Then he walks away!

FIRST DAY!

Today was Tyson's 1st day in daycare EVER! I starting working again after being lucky and having 7 months off (not counting the short time i went back to work for 3 weeks in so-cal). I was very excited for him because I really like the place I picked. Cindy has had daycare in her same home for 18 years. Her and her sister watch a total of 14 children. I know it's a lot but they are all very well behaved and most of them have been with her for a long time. Half of the kids go to school during the day while the other half stay home because they are younger. With the younger kids she does "school" with them everyday teaching them their alphabet, letters, how to write, and even how to read. A lot of the children she has are pretty advanced for their age which is very important to me because that means Tyson is going to be in a very enriched environment.

Before Tyson's first day today we visited her house two times interviewing and watching how Cindy, her sister, and the other kids engaged with Tyson. They ALL love him! especially all the little girls, of course! The first time we were there I ended up staying an hour and a half just talking to Cindy and watching her interaction with the other children. They are all really well behaved and get along great with the babies.

Today when I arrived all the children were telling Cindy "Tyson is here, Tyson is here". They were all excited he was coming. The older kids were already off to school when I arrived so they didnt get to see him. She told me even the older kids were looking forward to seeing and playing with Tyson today but after I told her my mother was going to pick him up at 2pm, she said the other kids would be very sad they would miss him (b/c they would be returning from school right after he left). When I left him for the day he was already just playing with the toys and the other kids just fitting right in. I picked him up to say goodbye and he didnt even care, he just tried to get back on the ground to play with the toys again.... I was sad!!!

Of course I met my mother at Cindy's house today when she picked him up because I had to see how he did. Of course, he did GREAT! Tomorrow will be his first FULL day so hopefully it'll go just as good. I can't imagine otherwise though. The only difference is that ALL the kids will be there in the afternoon so it will actually be more eventful for him.

Tyson and Alexandria are the only infants Cindy watches. Alexandria is 8 months (9 soon). The next oldest is 2 years old. So she is his new friend! She is really advanced for her age and Cindy believes it is because of the other children. She will be teaching Tyson a lot. She has been crawling for a while now and Cindy said that yesterday she took her first two steps. She said she even said HI. She will be walking easily within a few days. Today when I was there she just stood up by herself with no help at all. No grabbing on to anything except for a pillow on the ground to pull her up. And she stood there for a few seconds just balanced. I was shocked!

I feel very comfortable with Tyson at this place and Im looking forward to see how much he is going to learn from the other kids. Tomorrow is a whole new day!

The Day I've Been Waiting For

I knew the day would come when Tyson would pull down all the DvD's. And he's not even that mobile yet.

Being Thankful

So I finally got to pick up my baby in LA. I flew to Burbank Thanksgiving morning at 7am. Justin went to go play football so I got some alone time with my papas when I first saw him. He was sooo happy to see me. He had a huge smile on his face. It was wierd for me because I hadnt seen him in so long it seemed like. I can tell he had an awesome time with his daddy and family though. It was nice that he got to spend some time with them. After Justin got back from football we made 2lbs of home-made baked mac and cheese. Family recipe that my mom always makes for the holidays. It was really good and I think Justin's family enjoyed it. I hope ;) We went to Justin's parents house and had dinner over there with some of his mom and dad's family. Lots of food! There were two tables, one for the "adults" and one for the "kids" or now becoming "young adults". Its funny because you think after having a child that you would graduate to the adult table. lol. Our table seemed to be having more fun anyways. :) I didnt have my camera but there were plenty of pictures taken and once I get some I'll put them up for show.

After dinner I was changing Tyson into his pajamas and he was having so much fun laughing and playing. I put him on the ground to see how his "crawling" is coming along. He wants to move so badly. It's so darn cute! He can turn around in different directions, he can move backwards, but has yet to move forwards. He is starting to try and get on his knees though now. It's so cute, he puts his head into the ground and lifts his back legs up so his booty is in the air. He's getting petty good though so I know he'll be mobile in no time. I have to start baby proofing the house now! We had to fly back into Oakland on Friday morning because I had to work that day. We almost missed our flight but made it just in time. It was a quick good bye because of the rush but we'll back in LA soon to create some more memories.

Tyson just turned 7 months on November 25th. Shortly before that we took him to get his 6 month pictures. They turned out so freakin adorable. He has grown so much since his 3 month pictures its crazy. He just looks like a little man now. (although some people still call him a girl). But here are a few pictures that he took. There were so many but I liked these the most. The Picture Place in Topanga Mall is saving them though for a year so anyone can go in there and look at them and order some prints if you want. Check it out. Next we have to get his holiday pictures so we can send then to friends and family for the holidays. We are looking forward to his first Hannukah and Christmas now. I have a feeling he will be getting LOTS of presents! Until then

Video Phone

So Justin started working for this company called ACN. It's a telecommunications company that sells different types of services. Well he bought me a digital video phone so we can see each other when we talk. So when I have Tyson he can see him and vice versa. Well its come into play very well since Justin has Tyson right now. I want to use it ALL day because I love being able to see him. Now I just need more of my friends or family to buy one so I can use it more often. Anyone interested? dad?

it's well worth it for people you dont get to see too often.

Tyson-less

So I returned from LA on Thursday WITHOUT Tyson. I left him to stay with his Daddy for a week and it's been so hard. I know that Justin is doing good with him, that's not the issue, it's just that I miss him so much and this is the first time I am going to be gone from him this long. I'm not used to being without him. I got out of my car yesterday and for a split second felt like I was forgetting him somewhere. AWWWW Tyson I MISS You!!! BUT this is good time that he gets to spend and have big boy time with Daddy so for that I am thankful. I have to try and get Justin to take daily pictures of Tyson and send them to me so I can still keep you guys updated on how he's doing. I wasnt able to do that when I was there. But I hope they are doing good.

Here's the only two pics I took while in LA. And it was the sky the day of the fires! It was crazy because in Woodland Hills it was just all grey and orange and it just completely smelled like burnt wood. I went to the mall and walking from my car to the mall it was almost impossible to breathe. It's dangerous because there are so many toxins just floating through the air. But thank god it's over and I pray for all those families and people that lost their homes and belongings.

LA Fires

So Tyson and I are in LA again visiting his daddy. I'm going to stay here for a few days but I start a new job at Comcast on Friday so I have to go home but I am leaving Tyson here with Justin until Thanksgiving. I am then flying back for Thanksgiving [I can't miss Tyson's 1st Thanksgiving] and then bringing Tyson home with me. So he will be in LA for a week without me. :( I don't know what I'm gonna do with myself without him. I wont have him to update his blog either unless I can convince his daddy to do it ;)

Luckily we came yesterday because today highway 5 is closed in Valencia because of the fires. It's crazy how quickly it's been spreading because of the winds and how close it is to where Justin lives. They are starting to evacuate Granada Hills which is literally a few exits away from here. Hopefully we don't get evacuated, I don't think we will. Because of the fires though, it's actually been pretty hot out here. The weather today is 87 degrees. They say because of the wind pressure, for every 1000 feet decrease is altitude the temp gets 5 degrees hotter. So it's actually probably a nice day to go to the beach believe is or not. Not only is it further away from the fire so the air is a little better but its hot in the coastal areas. [Do I sound like a weather woman or what?] I have my camera but I don't have the cord to hook it to the computer so I cant post any pictures unless i take them from my phone. I'll do what I can.

Justin just bought the baby a ton of new toys though to keep him occupied while he's here. He got a new bouncer and walker and little baby laptop. I wonder if Tyson will actually try to walk in his walker. We'll see i guess. Gotta go right now but I'll stay updated throughout the week.

On the Move

So today I had Tyson on his boppy laying down and he had been drinking his milk watching cartoons while I was trying to do some stuff. Before I know it, he had rolled over onto his stomach. Well there was a toy there so he was playing happily with it. I decided he could stay on his stomach as long as he was having fun. So I went into the other room for a minute to change my clothes... not thinking he could move anywhere. I come around the corner after changing my clothes and he wasn't there. I hear him though. Talking Making his baby noises from the other side of the ottoman. I walk over and he has the lower half of his body underneath the ottoman. I couldnt help but just laugh. It was just so cute because he looks at me like "what mom?". So I guess he's mobile now. The only thing is that he doesnt move forwards. He pushes himself backwards. He just scoots backwards until he cant go no more. I put him down again and he backed himself all the way into the couch until the leg of the couch was in between his leg and he couldnt go back anymore. I guess I can't run into the room for a minute anymore without him.

Speechless

So Tyson's been doing this thing where he just moves his lips and nothing comes out. It's so funny. I think he trys to imitate what he sees when I talk. Except he has no words. lol. I feel like you could just do a voice over with his video. He could be the next baby on that commercial that talks into the webcam. soon enough words will be coming out.

Dirrrty Ty

So i was feeding Tyson tonight and afterwards I go to pick him up and change him and I see this stuff seeping through his pajamas on his stomach. Well since I fed him green beans I thought that maybe some green beans fell on him. So i go to open his pajamas and my fear was true. It wasn't green beans. It was poopies seeping through his 'jamas. He had poopie ALL over his stomach and all over his legs and back. Man has he been going a lot lately. Guess I don't have to worry too much about the constipation anymore. Well I immediately gave him a bath in which he is just so adorable. Especially since he can sit up now. So I took some pictures to share. Enjoy!

Reflections

Put Tyson in front of a mirror and he can play for hours. I think he thinks it's another little baby. I read that infants dont recognize their reflection is them until about 9 months old. He's so cute though!it's a sure way to get him to smile!

Making Friends

It's so cute how hard Tyson tries to be Charlie's friend but Charlie just doesn't care. Everytime he walks by or comes near ,Ty's face just lights up. And Charlie just walks on by paying him no attention. Now Tyson is getting bold and he tries to pet him and I think Charlie is warming up a little bit because he allows Tyson to get closer. I think a friendship is starting to bond. Until Tyson gets old enough to pull his tail! :)

LA Times

This last week was a fun filled time for Tyson as he got to spend 9 days with daddy in LA. Justin moved into a new place and Tyson has his OWN ROOM. It isn't fully decorated yet but he has his own closet and dressers and place to sleep. It was the first time he slept in a room by himself. He did pretty good. He would wake up a few times in the middle of the night sort of crying but still sleeping and I had to go in and just stick his paci back in his mouth but overall it was good for him. Good thing Justin has a monitor with a TV so we could watch him while he slept.



He also got to meet a new member of his family which is Justin's new dog Dillinger. They got along great. Tyson is an animal lover and whenever the animals come near him he gets the biggest smile ever its really cute. He has even learned how to pet them with some occasional grabbing. But they love him too and he gets a little lick in the face every once in a while. So now he has 3 pets. A cat and two dogs! Charlie, Gidgette, and Dillinger.



Tyson also got his 6 month shots today including a flu shot. He did well as always. The doctor usually counts down from 3 as soon as I pick him up to see how long it takes for him to stop crying and he only cried for 2 seconds. He's very good at handling pain. But he's growing normally and he's in all the right ranges. He's almost 27 inches and 16 pounds 12 ounces. Gained a whole 9 pounds and grew almost 6 inches since birth. He's PERFECT!
